Siseebakwet is a unique 1350 acre clear water lake. The name comes from the Ojibway word “Ziinzibaakwad,” and means “sugar,” hence the reason the lake is often referred to as Sugar Lake.
The mission of the Siseebakwet Lake Association is to preserve, protect, and enhance our lake; and to provide social opportunities to our watershed and membership area.
We rely on community members to volunteer their time to help keep Sugar Lake sparkling. We would be delighted to receive donations to help fund our community projects like AIS monitoring, annual road clean-ups, association meeting logistics, and resources for our incredible watershed. Any bit helps!
Your donations go directly to our association to aid in our efforts to:
- Continue the fight to prevent AIS
- Support the membership with education and community events
- Continuing historical record keeping
- Keeping our watershed safe and clean for future generations
