Signcasts

Signcasts advocates for the Deaf community by using the tools of Citizen Journalism to help inform, empower, educate and enable the Deaf.  We wish to inform the community by providing them with the information it needs to build a strong community, but also to use the participatory process of citizen journalism to help educate and empower them in a way that enables them to address their own advocacy needs. 

We are currently working on our DeafMN project, which applies our media advocacy work for the Minnesota Deaf community. Just launched in October 2014, DeafMN.com provides news, events, resource and employment listings. We hope to further enhance this site to better support the Minnesota Deaf community, as well as using this site as a model resource to help us expand to serve other geographic areas and deaf interest groups.
