Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota (STRMN) has been a beacon of hope for hundreds of dogs, rescuing them from Minnesota and far beyond. Once under our care, each dog is welcomed into the warm embrace of a loving foster family, playing a vital role in their adoption journey, from home visits to continued support post-adoption.

Our commitment to their well-being is unwavering. Every single dog is spayed or neutered, and receives essential health care, including dental work and immunizations. We strive to find a forever home for each dog and the best possible start for them and their family.

Some of our dogs come to us because their owners can no longer care for them. Others are rescued from the grim realities of puppy mills, where they’ve known nothing but confinement and neglect. $35+ takes care of transportation costs to bring a Shih Tzu to STRMN rescue 

$60+ provides grooming for dogs who have often had their grooming needs neglected, sometimes for years!

$125+ enables vet checkups for rescue dogs   

$150+ provides vaccinations, microchips or medications for STRMN dogs   

$275+ gives dental treatments, including cleaning and removal of diseased teeth, which can lead to serious infections  

$400+ provides spaying or neutering for our rescue dogs 

These are some of the very basic costs of care and services. Many dogs coming to STRMN need significantly more care and the cost for these complex cases frequently are as high as $1,000 or more.
