Rochester Area Community Foundation, founded in 1972, administers more than 900 permanent endowment funds created to carry out the charitable giving interests of individuals, families, and organizations. Using the income from these funds and other contributions, the Community Foundation makes grants to qualified agencies and programs organized and operated for charitable, educational, or other publicly beneficial purposes. The Community Foundation also administers scholarship programs, which assist qualified individuals in meeting the expenses of undergraduate and graduate education. As a catalyst for community change, we bring passionate philanthropists together with those organizations and individuals who can most effectively restore hope, create opportunity and improve the quality of life for others.
