Rochester Active Sports Club

Today is the annual Giving Tuesday. Rochester Active Sports Club is a nonprofit organization with a mission to support a healthy lifestyle through a variety of outdoor sports and recreational activities. This annual single day of giving for nonprofits in Minnesota is such an important opportunity for RASC to remind everyone of what philanthropic funding has provided to us in the past and as well as highlight our goals for the future.

During the past 20 years, philanthropic support has helped us:

• Create outdoor trails in Quarry Hill park and Essex Park through many hours of volunteer labor and through donations that have allowed us to maintain these trails winter and summer for skiing and hiking / walking. These trails have been key to the successful development of the Rochester Nordic Ski Team. With around 150 members, this middle / high school ski team is focused on teaching kids a lifetime skill   
• Create over 20 km of mountain bike trails in Eastwood and Gamehaven parks. These trails have become key to allowing us to establish the Rochester Mountain Bike Team for middle and high school students. 
• Work with Rochester Park and Recreation department to establish a 3 km man-make ski trail system in Gamehaven park. This will ensure the viability of our
