Basic Needs in Rice County
0 DONORS
Right now, in Rice County, 4 in 10 households are struggling to afford life’s most basic essentials—food, housing, healthcare, and child care. Many of these families are ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—hardworking neighbors who earn too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to get by.
At Rice County Area United Way, we believe no one should have to choose between groceries and rent, medicine and heat, or books and diapers. That’s why we mobilize our community to action—so everyone has a chance to thrive.
With your support, we fund high-impact grants across three key areas:
Financial Security & Basic Needs
Youth Opportunity
Healthy Community
We also bring joy to local children through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and promote literacy through Books on Central, our volunteer-run bookstore in historic downtown Faribault.
Last year alone, our partner agencies provided over 37,000 meaningful points of contact to local families in need. But we can’t do it without you.
Our Give to the Max goal is $15,000—and every dollar counts.
Whether you’re a first-time donor or a longtime supporter, your gift helps provide critical resources to families who need it most. You can make a difference—right here, right now.
Please read our 2025 Impact Report and give today. United is the Way we all thrive!
