Help us raise $20,000 for RCC’s work in 2024 connecting residents, cities & counties to get local projects done!

Hands on Projects – Getting big things done with residents & cities!

  • Protecting Our Lakes and Rivers with Fall & Spring Clean Ups, Adopt a Drain & Raking Leaves off Streets
  • Minneapolis Climate Equity Plan City-Community Implementation – We’re connecting volunteers by ward to engage their neighbors to get their homes weatherized, install heat pumps, plant trees
  • Hi-Lake District Geothermal Planning– We’re meeting with residents, businesses & developers to make new buildings geothermal-ready to reduce heating & cooling costs

Peer Learning & Action - Connecting cities to implement projects together to scale up high-impact actions state-wide

  • County Clusters  We’re convening city, community & county leaders in December share ideas to strengthen their local Green Teams and explore applying for federal and state grants to implement high impact projects together for low-carbon, resilient & affordable, buildings transportation & energy systems.
  • 21st Century Communities Peer-Learning Webinars join us 2nd Thurs, 12:30pm to 2pm on zoom with city teams guiding large site redevelopments with developers to include low-carbon & resilient buildings, energy & transportation systems
  • BIPOC Local Elected Leaders Peer-Learning Network (with Nexus) Experienced Mayors & City Council Members mentoring & supporting new BIPOC elected leaders to advance priority projects

Collaborative Climate Implementation – We’re linking state, metro, county, city, nonprofit, community & EJ leaders to boost local implementation with new federal and state climate funding

  • Making High-Impact City Climate Actions Easier – We’re reaching out to city, nonprofit, business & community leaders to work with the State Climate Goal Teams to learn from successful projects, develop strategy maps & funding recommendations for priority actions cities want to take
  • 2024 MN Environmental Congress – We’re proposing to the EQB & partners to co-organize the Bi-Annual Event with concurrent in-person metro and regional locations with interactive topic sessions for state, county & city staff, nonprofit, business and citizen leaders to plan next steps to stay on track to achieve our state climate goals on time while expanding access to healthy air, water and green jobs.

City & County Indigenous Acknowledgement & Partnerships

  • We’re linking local Dakota & Indigenous leaders and community volunteers with regional, county and city parks and open space planning to encourage respectful partnerships with Dakota & Indigenous led-initiatives to restore local Dakota Place names and habitat and expand ecological co-management & cultural/historical interpretation & programs

With your support we’re connecting teams of citizen & elected leaders and city staff from 50 Minnesota cities, linking experienced cities to mentor nearby cities to put new state and federal climate funding to work.

Local leaders, nonprofit and public sector staff active with RCC are working together to co-create a healthy state-wide ecosystem supporting local climate implementation and equitable, resilient communities.

We can’t do our work without you! Thanks for donating today and for joining us this fall!
