We open doors to second chances!

The Redeeming Time Project (RTP) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching critical life skills to the incarcerated and the formerly incarcerated through the exploration of the theatrical arts.

We use theatre as a tool to improved communication skills, critical thinking, robust debate, self-reflection, stress release, discipline, teamwork, delayed gratification and, critically, play.

The arts don’t depend on academic education or other prerequisites. Anyone can participate. The arts are experiential and non-judgmental. There is no one correct answer. The arts develop the ability to see the world from different perspectives, encourage taking positive risks and allow discovery of hidden skills and talents.

Prison performing arts programs change lives for the better, both behind the walls and in communities, all across this country.

Recidivism rates drop; college enrollment increases.

We are currently locked out, due to the pandemic, but look forward to getting back to work with the men as soon as conditions allow. Can you help us to purchase scripts, costume pieces, props, and train teaching artists?
