Protect Minnesota is the only state-based gun violence prevention organization in Minnesota. Our presence on the ground in communities across our state means that we can be reactive, responsive, and truly impactful in fighting the pervasive negative force of gun violence in our state.  Gun violence impacts every single Minnesotan - stealing lives, devastating families, oppressing communities, and costing our state over $2 billion annually. Every day in Minnesota, three people are shot and at least one dies of their injuries. Every year, guns kill more Minnesotans than either opioids or car accidents. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and youth in America.

Last year, gun deaths were up 6% in Minnesota, with 572 Minnesotans killed. 572 preventable deaths.

But it doesn't have to be this way.
