Connecting under-represented youth to nature and outdoor exploration!

Since 2005, Project GO has worked to connect low-income youth and children of color to the outdoors by empowering out-of-school, community-based organizations to incorporate nature activities into their programming. We provide training and guidance to help youth-serving organizations navigate the processes of designing, implementing and sustaining their own unique nature-based programs that aim to reach children who do not have access to traditional outdoor programs.

We are fundraising to expand our capacity to better serve youth across Minnesota. Funds will help us bring on a part-time Development Director to oversee fundraising and marketing and to allow us to increase our Program Coordinator position to full time. Programming goals for the coming year include piloting an outdoor mentorship program for immigrant and refugee community leaders in the Rochester area to learn about nature in southeast Minnesota and ways to engage community members outdoors. We are also hoping to bring on college interns to help with our efforts to expand outdoor classrooms to schools across southeast Minnesota.

We thank you for your support of Project Get Outdoors!
