Supporting healthy youth development through nature-based outdoor experiences!

Since 2005, Project GO has worked to connect low-income youth and children of color to the outdoors by empowering out-of-school, community-based organizations to incorporate nature activities into their programming. Working hand-in-hand with local community action organizations, we provide training and guidance as they navigate the processes of designing, implementing and sustaining their own unique Project GO after school programs.  Programs strive to reach children who do not have access to traditional outdoor programs.

We are gearing up for our 20th Anniversary in 2025 and are focused on fundraising for our general operating costs so we can add to our team a marketing & fundraising coordinator and allow our program coordinator to focus on outreach and program development. In addition to continuing to provide nature-based outreach and programming for community organizations and offering training and resources for youth-serving organizations, we plan to the spearhead the planning for a Southeast Minnesota Nature Rx Conference to bring together area education, health care, and outdoor recreation professionals to share about current efforts to connect people to nature for wellbeing and to discuss pathways to make nature more accessible to all residents. We will also continue to champion the Minnesota Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights by helping pilot curriculum and programming for schools to connect teachers and students to nature for social emotional wellbeing.

We appreciate any amount you can share and we thank you for your support of Project Get Outdoors!
