Promoting Strong Bodies, Strong Minds and Strong Character in kids through Mountain Biking

Prior Lake Mountain Bike Team (PLMTB) is a non-profit corporation (Section 501 (c) whose purpose is to provide opportunities for students to develop and discover their physical and mental capacity while gaining self-confidence, fitness, adventure and friendships through participation in competitive and / or non-competitive mountain biking activities.

The Prior Lake Mountain Bike Team is an organization made up of dedicated volunteers who share a passion for cycling and the outdoors and want to promote that same passion in kids for cycling and an active, healthy lifestyle.

We accomplish this through coaching and support of the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools competitive co-ed Mountain Biking program for students in 6th-12th grades. Kids learn mountain biking skills, develop teamwork and gain confidence and develop leadership, all the while engaging in an activity that will provide them a lifetime of fun, fitness and an appreciation of the outdoors.  The Prior Lake Mountain Bike Team competes in high school and middle school mountain bike races under the Minnesota High School Cycling League (part of NICA, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association).

This program provides alternative athletic opportunities to kids outside of traditional ball and stick sports.  We value inclusive and equal opportunities to participate for all.  There are no try-outs, no bench-warmers and everyone can participate in races/events and contribute to the team.
