Our Story, His Story

Praise FM began on KBHL in Osakis, Minnesota in 1985. 

In 1995 God directed our staff and board of directors to change our format to worship and impressed our hearts with a promise that he would expand our ministry to share of His glory with the nations. 

In response to this invitation we changed our format to include more prayer, more scripture and extended times of worship. We began to invite people into a place of abiding in him and began to hear their stories of bearing fruit as a result of encountering the Living God. 

We added KBHZ in Willmar in 1996, and KCGN in Milbank in 1999.

In late 2008 we began to broadcast on KNOF in St Paul and Minneapolis through a lease agreement and partnership with North Central University. While operating in the Cities we have partnered with a many local organizations toward worship events and relief efforts in our community. Our online presence has been growing rapidly: on social media we have grown from several hundred people to tens of thousands of friends and followers within several years. We are able to complement our ministry over the airwaves through these platforms.

Best of all, God has allowed us to broadcast His gospel in tractors, in homes, and on interstates. He has even opened doors for us to reach people listening online from 154 nations. 

And we believe that this is just the beginning. We see the roots of profound revival and renewal, and believe that God is raising this canopy of worship to help prepare our communities for what He plans to do.

Our history is really His story. His fame. His name. His glory. Our delight. 

 

What Can a Million Worshipers Do Together?

We currently have more than 300,000 regular listeners from nearly every nation on earth. God has given us a vision of raising up one million worshippers who will pray, worship and receive God's Word together. We believe God would also have these worshippers feed the hungry, distribute the Word of God, proclaim the Gospel and bring about justice on the earth. 

We believe that one million worshippers could do practical things such as distribute one million Bibles, feed one million hungry children, save exploited people from sex trafficking and other acts of worship. In the coming year, we want to point you to projects like these, and pray, work and give together in the name of Jesus.

Over the past year we have been asking this question, and have raised support for incredible ministry to the homeless, broken, trafficked, and more.
