Prairie View Elementary

In April of 1963, District 272 passed a resolution to purchase 10 acres of land for a second elementary school. The name was determined to be Prairie View in March of the following year.
The first construction had 16 classrooms, gymnasium/cafeteria, library, AV room, Psychologist office, Health room, remedial room and a teachers workroom/general administration and general office.

Today, Prairie View houses 28 classrooms, Specialist wing which has separate art, music, band, technology and two gyms, as well as multiple Special Education and student support rooms. The school also has an inner courtyard, park, two baseball fields, hockey rink and skating pond but most important are our 600+ students and 100 staff members.

Monies raised at PTO fundraisers have been used to purchase Smart Boards and Sound systems for all classrooms; new books for the library; microscopes, rock climbing wall and many other worthwhile tools for our staff and students. Your donation will help fund educational supplies for students as well as building improvements.
