Puppeteers of America (PofA) is a national nonprofit founded in 1937 to celebrate the art of puppetry, provide valuable information, encourage performances, and foster a vibrant community of puppet enthusiasts. We believe in the power of puppetry to entertain, educate, and inspire, and we're dedicated to preserving and promoting this beautiful art form.

Since our inception, we've proudly organized over 160 national and regional festivals, bringing puppetry to life for audiences across the United States.

We take pride in the fact that some of the most iconic figures in puppetry, such as Jim Henson, Caroll Spinney, Bil Baird, and Burr Tillstrom, were active members of our community. They provided leadership, advice, and inspiration to generations of puppeteers. Their legacy lives on through the art they nurtured and the community they helped build.
