The Plainview Area History Center is committed to telling the stories and preserving the history of the Plainview area. Our building was originally constructed in 1866, and while it has had multiple upgrades and improvements over the years there are still a number of improvements the building needs to make sure we can continue to safely house our many artifacts, allowing patrons to benefit from our large collections and the research materials we have available. We would also like to upgrade and invest in newer equipment and technologies to improve the experience for our patrons, better preserve aging and irreplaceable documents, and to share our history more easily with the world.
