Plains Art Museum is a regional fine arts museum located in downtown Fargo, N.D.

As a member of Plains Art Museum, you have been critical to sustaining quality exhibitions, education, and artist opportunities in our region. Thank you for all you’ve done to get us to a new and transformative time in the history of Plains Art Museum.

Today, I invite you to become involved in our next phase of development. Please consider a gift at this time, above and beyond your annual contribution, that will help support the new Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity, which opens this fall. This rehabbed 27,000 sq. ft. facility will serve the region with four studio classrooms, a ceramics wing, a digital media lab, exhibition and project spaces, and a commons gathering space.

The Center will build the Museum’s capacity to serve broader audiences with programs that use visual arts as mode and method for learning 21st-century skills—creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. We are passionate about using art as a foundation for cultivating people’s potential for deep learning and problem solving. The Center will serve 12,000 additional students and adults each year.

Linked to Museum exhibitions and other resources, open to the community, and centrally tied to K12 education as well as to local colleges and regional artists, the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity will strengthen the Museum’s educational mission; build vibrancy and value for visual arts in our region; and increase the livability of Fargo-Moorhead.

Please join us to make the Center a vital core of our community life. With your special gift, above and beyond your annual donation, you will make inspiration happen by providing opportunities for the entire community and region to gather, create, and explore.

I thank you for your ongoing support for quality arts and education in our region, and I look forward to seeing you at the Grand Opening of the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity this fall.

Sincerely,

Colleen J. Sheehy
Director and CEO

P.S. Mark your calendars and Let’s Connect! Join us for a free celebration for all ages at the Grand Opening of the Center for Creativity on Sunday, September 30, 2012 • noon-5 pm.
