Your gift helps families experiencing homelessness.

As the largest and most comprehensive family shelter in Minnesota, People Serving People depends on your support to end family homelessness. Over 300 people, including 200 children, call People Serving People home every day. Approximately 94% of our guests identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color).

Following the end of the eviction moratorium in 2022, we've seen an unprecedented number of families seeking emergency shelter in Hennepin County. People Serving People went from serving 21 families nightly in the spring of 2021, to serving 99 families every day over the past year.

All of this is happening at a time when inflation has dramatically increased the cost of living, making it harder for families to stay housed. It has also made it more expensive for providers like us to operate our crucial programs and services.

To weather this perfect storm, we need support from our community. Your gift will help us sustain our shelter operations and provide critical resources to families experiencing homelessness.

Your gift helps families thrive.

People Serving People is more than just a shelter. We offer services like employment assistance, financial literacy classes, support groups, on-site childcare, afterschool programs, and more. Guests can also work with our shelter advocates to work towards their goals and get connected to local resources. These vital services wouldn't be possible without the support of our generous community!

Your gift helps families stay housed.

People Serving People is there for every family who needs shelter, but no family should be homeless. That’s why we work upstream to prevent the experience of homelessness in the first place. Our prevention program does this by providing individualized financial support, options for affordable childcare, job search assistance, and more for families in our community. Your support bolsters this program and will help dozens of local families stay securely housed.
