Mission: The PA Breast Cancer Coalition represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in PA through educational programming, legislative advocacy and unique outreach initiatives. The PBCC is a statewide non-profit organization that creates the hope of a brighter tomorrow by providing action and information to women with breast cancer today. Programs: Friends Like Me is a statewide support group and advocacy network. The program provides information on support groups across the state as well as a discussion board and virtual photo exhibit. The program also provides newly diagnosed women with "Friends Like Me Care Packages" including educational information and "soft touches". PA Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference is the only statewide breast cancer conference in the Commonwealth. It brings together nearly 1,000 breast cancer survivors, health care professionals, legislators and business leaders for educational workshops and an awards luncheon. 67 Women - 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania is an educational work of art featuring at least one woman from each of the state's 67 counties. The exhibit features enlarged family snapshots showing women in love with life. Each picture tells a story of life, courage, hope and dignity. Income Tax Check-Off for Research legislation was spearheaded by the PBCC. Every dollar raised through the check off on the PA State Tax Form goes directly to the PA Department of Health to be distributed to breast cancer researchers.
