Park Spanish Immersion Parent Teacher Organization

The Park Spanish Immersion (PSI) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an organization that supports the school through events, volunteerism of parents, encouragement of teachers and students, and community involvement. We are known as the PSI Parents because every parent is automatically a member. 

The PSI PTO strives to benefit our school community in three main ways:

1. Support and enhance the family/school partnership by organizing events that benefit the school’s students and connect their families.
2. Support teachers and staff by providing resources, organizing room parents, and sponsoring staff appreciation events.
3. Organize and execute fundraising via two main fundraisers each year: the Leer (Read)-A-thon and spring silent auction, along with several other smaller initiatives such as book fairs, Amazon Smile, Box Tops, and Company Matches. The vast majority of money raised by the PTO goes toward funding the Amity Intern Program, but also supports learning and building community with initiatives like MCA Snacks, Teacher Conference Meals, Teacher Appreciation, School Supplies, and more.

Amity Intern Program

Amity interns are native Spanish speaking young adults who assist the teachers in the classrooms providing opportunities for smaller group instruction, modeling the Spanish language, and teaching about their cultures. 

They are vital to the success of the immersion program, enriching and enhancing the experience for all students. The cost to bring the amity interns to PSI is supported entirely by funds raised by the PSI PTO.
