OUR MISSION:   To feed the hungry in Douglas County area through an efficient system of collection and distribution of food to individuals, striving to preserve dignity and extending respect to all clients in Douglas County.

EVERY DAY, RIGHT HERE IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

There are children who cannot concentrate in school because they have not eaten.

There are parents who sacrifice their own nutritional needs so that their children can have something to eat.

There are elderly who have to choose between buying food or buying needed medicines.

There are working people who sometimes run out of money to buy healthy food.

There are hundreds of different people who depend on food from Outreach Food shelf each month for their very next meal.

Getting through a crisis, getting a job, recovering from an illness, taking a test-life’s problems, big and small, are nearly impossible when you are hungry.  Outreach Food Shelf deals with that most basic human need-food-so struggling adults and children can address their life problems.

Together, we can feed everyone who is food insecure in our community.

Many Douglas County residents struggle to provide enough food for their families because they cannot afford it.
