AND in MN, there are less than 20 beds where teen moms within the system can live WITH their babies?

Without support, many of these moms will have to surrender their babies.

OUR JOURNEY

Foster care has always been our calling. We decided when the time was right, God

would align our hearts for His purpose.  God’s purpose was revealed to us on April 18,

2023, a day we will never forget. While finalizing our home’s foster care licensing, my

husband and I happened to see a residential group home that was on the market. At

that moment, we both were thinking the same thing: How amazing it would be to

pursue this property to help teen mothers & their babies. It was something we had

always talked about, at that moment, we knew God’s plan was for our family

to specifically foster pregnant teen girls.

God also revealed to us that these pregnant teen girls need so much more than just

foster housing. They also need to learn essential life & parenting skills, most

importantly they needed the love of Christ in their lives! 

That is how Open Hearts Home was born.

Over the following weeks, God put the pieces into motion in a big way! We obtained our

501c3 nonprofit status 5 days after submitting our application. By the beginning of June

all the legal requirements were completed, and Advisory Board was established

consisting of community members that believed in our dream and chose to join our

mission. Open Hearts Home was no longer just our calling, it was our reality!

OUR MISSION

Open Hearts Home is our non-profit program that will work alongside us to serve young

pregnant & parenting mothers at risk of homelessness. Our core values are Integrity, Trust, Accountability, Dignity & Education. With a focus on faith, parenting support & education. Open Hearts Home will provide services to pregnant girls ages 13 – 21 along with their children, newborn to age 4.

Our mission at Open Hearts Home is to help young mothers break generational chains and become self-sufficient as they venture into adulthood.

Housing & around the clock care for young mothers & their babies

Childcare

Training in life & parenting skills

Assistance with Driver’s Education, finishing High School, seeking employment & higher education.
