Imagine a theatre where inspiring stories come alive and artists push the boundaries of creativity. That's Open Eye – a vibrant hub where artistry flourishes and community joyfully thrives.
Expand our impact as a diverse theatre hub: We’re thrilled to be producing REFUGE by Satya Jnani Chavez and Andrew Rosendorf, co-directed by Joel Sass and Sofia Padilla. With an original score and dynamic puppetry, this bilingual production follows a teenage migrant’s journey across a challenging and mystical desert on their quest to find a new life in America.
Elevate Open Eye as a home for exceptional storytellers: Join us in welcoming back Minnesota’s storyteller laureate for his powerful career-defining solo show KEVIN KLING: UNRAVELLED, brimming with the wit and wisdom inherent in Disability Culture.
Produce the world premiere of STRANGE HEART: The Dream Songs of John Berryman: Featuring beloved vocalists Bradley Greenwald and Anna Hashizume, Greg Brosofske’s jazz operetta is a passionate and visually lavish exploration of the turbulent life and art of Minnesota’s Pulitzer Prize-winning poet.
Enliven our green space with FREE summer puppetry & music: With community having lined up around the block for last summer’s July series, we’re laying plans for the return of SWEET SONGS & FLYING OBJECTS, our all-ages, family-friendly summer series!
Advance careers through the PUPPET LAB Residency & Festival: Nurturing the next generation of puppeteers through workshops, mentorship, and a showcase of boundary-expanding new work, led by Co-Artistic Directors Oanh Vu and Sofía Padilla.
Cultivate vibrant community connections through the Driveway Tour! We're beyond excited to launch a new all-ages family-friendly puppet show, JEREMY & THE GIANT KING, in summer 2026.
Make art accessible for everyone: Your support keeps ticket prices affordable through our Economic Accessibility program.
Individual support is the lifeblood of Open Eye. We're raising $10,000 during Give to the Max to ensure a strong finish to our season and launch boldly into 2026. Play a starring role in bringing eye-opening art to audiences of all ages!
100% of funds raised during Give to the Max will go directly to supporting artists!
