Established in 2019, Open Door Community Theatre (ODCT) is mostly an all-volunteer community theater with a unique mission. Not only do we stage high-quality productions, we give back to our community by donating a portion of our shows' proceeds to local community charity partners. In our inaugural production of Shrek the Musical in July 2019, ODCT donated $10,956 to the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf in Oakdale, MN!

Since then, we have gone on to produce incredible shows like The Little Mermaid, Godspell, School of Rock: The Musical, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Suessical, and The Producers, sharing the profits with other non-profit organizations like Coco's Dog Rescue, SoWashCo, Angels of Hope Memorial, Hopewell Music Academy, Joseph's Coat, Joy Collaborative, Peacemakers MN, and One Woodbury. 

As we look forward to our 2026 season including productions of Matilda: The Musical and Footloose, we hope that you will help support the cost of staging our high quality productions to entertain the East Metro and give back to the communities we serve. 

Ticket sales only cover about 40% of the total annual cost of producing quality, live community theatre. For the remaining 60%, we rely on sponsorships, grants and generous donations from our patrons who support the arts in our Northeast Metro community. This year has brought on a bigger need for donations to support our new PT Executive Director, moving from King of Kings to Oltman Middle School for our winter production, and actively seeking permanent rehearsal space. Our Cabaret earlier this month, helped us raise $19,000, but we are over $10,000 short of our goal for the end of the year. Any donation will help support the incredible season we have in store! 

Open Door Community Theatre is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization. As such, your donations to our organization may qualify as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes.
