The people of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod are “freed by God’s grace to be wholly devoted to Jesus and our neighbor in love.” Our freedom isn’t for ourselves, so that we can do whatever we want; it’s for loving Jesus and then devoting ourselves to the wellbeing of our neighbors. And this is not a part-time, sometimes on Sundays commitment; we are devoting our whole selves to this – wholly devoted.

“Seeing Visions, Dreaming Dreams” is the phrase guiding and inspiring us in this season, because the Holy Spirit is stirring us to do so! Through innovative initiatives like Rural Revival and our brand-new leadership formation work among young leaders, FOR: The Church of Today FOR the Church of Tomorrow, whole faith communities are seeing a new path into the future of God’s mission and ministry for their congregations. People are seeing the visions and dreaming the dreams of a community that knows the Holy Spirit is active and moving in their midst. This year’s Give to the Max campaign will fund Rural Revival, and up to 15 high school youth in Christian Leadership formation, equipping them to share God’s love and the good news of Jesus Christ in every church and community. Your gifts to this campaign will be used to inspire and equip leaders young and old in these two ways:

Rural Revival: God pours out God’s Holy Spirit into God’s people, inspiring and equipping them to share God’s love with all. Rural Revival ensures that rural leaders and congregations are included in this vital work. Your support provides rural leaders and congregations opportunities to see a future filled with possibility, hope, and God’s design for the communities they serve in the heartland of God’s creation.

FOR: The Church of Today FOR the Church of Tomorrow: Your generosity will support up to 15 young adults across our synod with leadership training to equip them to be faithful leaders in their homes, congregations, schools, and communities. This includes sending two youth representatives and an adult leader to the ELCA Youth Leadership Summit, as well as accompanying those who lead youth and young adults.

We are grateful to the Offutt Family Foundation for providing a $25,000 matching gift, so that every dollar you and your congregation gives becomes two dollars for seeing more visions and dreaming greater dreams in the congregations of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod. Let’s challenge one another to meet that match early, and finish the day showing the world how generous we are and how committed we are to our shared mission and ministry, and the congregations and leaders of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod.
