Northland ReEntry Inc

   Northland ReEntry is a 501C3 tax exempt charity with a fairly focused program. We are working with the Department of Corrections of Minnesota, CrossingHome and the halfway houses. When Guys come out of the DOC, ether due to parole or Bootcamp, we are here to give them a roof over their heads and some help getting work and taking care of themselves through cooking, clothes washing, cleaning and taking care of the outside around the house. Most times they haven't enough money to buy food for themselves, so we would pay for a weeks food and more if needed. 

    We own a seven bedroom house in the 2300 block of west Duluth that serves us well. There is a list of guidelines and a rental agreement that each of the residents must agree to and sign their agreement to. We work with the Parole officers in trying to keep the residents on track with what they need to do. We do help them with a plan for their life and a track for leaving the house, which is about 8 to 12 month. At which time they will have a place to stay and a job to keep them there.

   A couple of challenges for us is it takes 4 residents in the house to pay the utilities and such and we very between 3 and 6  so sometimes we don't have the people in the house to support it. then to get new people, it takes two months to get in the house and another two months to get work and start paying rent. then it is a fairly old house that keeps needing work.
