The pandemic has had a huge impact on rescues across the country. Every day, we are asked to take in dogs from commercial breeding, reservations, shelters, hoarding houses, and more. On top of that, No Dog Left Behind has rescued cats and rabbits from inhumane living situations. The need is never-ending, and while we feel overwhelmed at times, we've also enjoyed so much success this year! In October alone we found 103 animals their forever homes.
With this increase in dogs passing through our rescue comes increase costs for medical care, supplies and transportation. We're asking for your help today to support our growth and to help us save each dog we have the opportunity to.
So far this year, we've found 816 dogs "furever" homes. We've spent over $300k in medical expenses for our dogs which included cases of heartworm, cases of parvo, dental extractions, amputations, eye surgery and repairs, and spays/neuters for all of our dogs. All the funds raised from this event will directly go to care for deserving dogs and allow us to say "Yes" to as many of the difficult medical case pups that we are asked to take in every single day.

No Dog Left Behind is a 501(c)(3) non-profit canine rescue based in the Twin Cities area, serving communities all across Minnesota. We are a no-kill, foster-based rescue, working to save abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs. We are 99% volunteer-based and outside of adoption fees which only cover some of the costs associated with each dog, we rely heavily on donations to operate and grow our rescue.
In 2023, we celebrated our 7,000th adoption and we are committed to increasing that number every year. Our organization began in 2011 and because of the support of our donors and the growth of our volunteer team we've seen an exponential increase in the amount of dogs we can rescue and our impact on our community in the last couple of years. We want to see this continue and you can help us achieve it!
All of our dogs get placed in caring foster homes, the stepping stone for them to figure out what life as a pup should be like. Fosters open their homes and their hearts, nurturing, training and loving these pups so that they can find their forever homes. During this time all of our dogs get a full veterinary exam, de-wormer, up to date vaccines, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and are provided heart-worm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. These veterinary costs along with some dog's need for advanced veterinary services are the rescue's largest ongoing expense. No Dog Left Behind's veterinary costs in 2022 were more than $300,000 to service all of our dogs! So think about the rescue dogs you know. The shy and timid ones, discovering what it means to be loved. The playful, rambunctious ones, learning how to interact with people and other dogs. The mischievous and awkward ones, figuring out how to live in a home. Rescue gives them all a second opportunity at life, just to be a dog, and to forget all the hardships of their earlier days.
