nimbus has been creating original theater in the Twin Cities since 2001. Their unique process for the creation of playwright-led collaborative work combined with their passion for creating bold, eclectic theater has been dazzling audiences for 20 years years. A company founded and led by playwrights and run by the artists themselves, we are dedicated to creating theater that crosses boundaries, promotes imagination, and ignites new conversations.

In addition to creating 20 years of original work, nimbus operates their venue, The Crane Theater, as a home for independent theater in the Twin Cities. A converted appliance factory with soaring 30-foot ceilings, The Crane is an industrial theater space offering multiple performance areas for all types of artists.
