Refine. Restore. Reacclimate.
At Next Chapter Reentry Project, these words encapsulate more than a slogan—they express a transformative philosophy. We believe every life holds the capacity for redemption. Through a holistic, gospel-centered model, we address the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of individuals impacted by incarceration, walking with them as they rebuild purpose, reconnect with family, and reacclimate to community life.
The data are clear: without coordinated support, most who leave incarceration return within three years. Yet when faith, community, and evidence-based care converge, the outcomes shift dramatically. Participants in our program experience recidivism rates less than half the national average. This is not by chance—it is the measurable result of our integrated approach: refining character through discipleship and accountability, restoring stability through housing and trauma-informed care, and reacclimating individuals through family systems engagement and community reintegration.
What began in 1991 as a simple jail Bible study has grown into a statewide movement of transformation. Today, Next Chapter operates seven restorative homes for men, women, and families—each a sanctuary designed for healing, growth, and renewed purpose. Beyond housing, we provide education, employment readiness, spiritual formation, and relational discipleship—meeting participants where they are while equipping them for sustainable success.
Our Vision
To be a national leader in reentry, redefining the narrative surrounding formerly incarcerated individuals by dismantling barriers, delivering essential resources, and advocating for expanded rights and opportunities. We envision communities where restoration replaces retribution and every returning citizen is seen as a neighbor with potential, not a statistic to be managed.
Our Core Values
Collaboration: We multiply impact through partnerships with churches, agencies, and community leaders.
Restorative Justice: We pursue justice that heals rather than punishes, restoring both individuals and communities.
Build Lasting Relationships: We believe transformation happens through authentic, enduring relationships grounded in grace and accountability.
Build a Leadership Pipeline: We cultivate and empower emerging leaders—many of whom have lived experience—to lead the next generation of reentry work.
Triune Approach to Restoration: We affirm the holistic restoration of mind, body, and spirit, reflecting the relational nature of God.
A Call to Partnership
Your partnership makes this redemptive work possible. When you invest in Next Chapter Reentry Project, you’re not merely supporting a program—you’re shaping the future of reentry in Minnesota and beyond. You’re helping refine lives through mentorship and skill-building, restoring families fractured by incarceration, and reacclimating neighbors into meaningful participation in the community.
Together, we can continue to Refine, Restore, and Reacclimate—transforming cycles of incarceration into stories of hope, purpose, and lasting change.
