Newtrax is a recognized leader in innovatively creating access to meaningful vocation and community life for those whose opportunities are otherwise limited.

In March of 2020 when Covid shut down the Newtrax’ transportation operations, we immediately went into ‘How Can We Help Within Our Community’ mode. After many weeks of reaching out to Ramsey County agencies, non-profit organizations, Emergency Food Shelves, and various school districts, we discovered there was a tremendous need to deliver food/meals to those unable to provide for themselves due to the Covid shutdown. Since then we have been able to work with the following organizations/agencies:

-Delivered approximately 800,000 meals to 27 area YMCA’s delivering food provided by Loaves and Fishes (April to September 2020)

-Developed a ‘Restaurant Meal’ program that delivered 10,000 restaurant prepared meals to senior communities and school families with children who were on the free and reduced lunch program (August to Dec 2020).

-Helped in the development of the next phase of restaurant meals called “More Than Meals”. Newtrax was the distribution partner for approximately 30,000 restaurant prepared meals distributed in the White Bear Lake, Vadnais Heights and Mahtomedi areas serving seniors and school families in need. (January to May 2021)

-Contracted with St Paul Public Schools for the delivery of meals to district families. Over 11,000 meals were delivered to households over an 11-week period  (November 2020 to January 2021).

-Partnered with Washington County to develop a food box delivery program that was supplied by 3 area food shelves…Valley Outreach Emergency Food Shelf, Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf, and White Bear Area Food Shelf. Over 270,000 lbs of food box supplies have been distributed (August 2020 to present).

-Partnered with Washington County for a ‘Prepared Meal’ delivery program for seniors and families in need. Food ingredients were provided from Loaves and Fishes and meals were prepared by Food Support Teams at area faith communities and delivered to homes by Newtrax drivers. Approximately 40,000 meals were delivered (November 2020 thru July 2021).

-Provided Rides for Covid positive patients to area hospitals through a program initiated by MnDOT.

-Provided vaccination clinic shuttles for area seniors.
