Caring for our neighbors for more than 45 years
We opened our doors as a volunteer-run "free clinic" operating in makeshift rooms at community centers. A safety net clinic to this day, we serve the heart of North and NE Minneapolis.
Our neighbors needed us 45 years ago, and—more than ever—they need us now. Our mission: to improve the health of our communities by providing quality health care services that are affordable and accessible.
Please give today. Help us be strong—and help us be ready—to serve every man, woman and child who comes through our doors.
If you live on the Northside, or if you live in Northeast, finding a provider isn't easy. Both communities are Medically Underserved Areas, meaning the ratio of people to primary care providers is several thousand to one. Our clinics provide a safety net for low-income families and those traditionally under-served by the private health care system: those who don't speak English, at-risk/non-mainstream adolescents, and individuals who are un- or under-insured to name a few.
We provide care that is accessible, affordable and compassionate. But, we can't do it without you.
So what is poverty's impact on health? The answer is disparity in the prevalence, death and complication rates of adverse health conditions and chronic disease. In our neighborhoods, it means the highest rates of asthma in our children, the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections in our youth, and diabetes among people of color outpacing white Minnesotans more than two to one.
Please help us answer the call to serve, and make your gift today.
