Teaching Sailing to All

Joyful, immersive, and rejuvenating, sailing is an experience like no other. At Minneapolis Sailing Center, we greet new sailors with open arms, introducing the basics through fun and engaging instruction. Our programs teach the craft and science of sailing in an approachable setting for groups, families, and individuals at varying levels of commitment.

MSC's mission is to foster an inclusive, sustainable community and to teach sailing to all. 

This year, we expanded the scale of our Equity and Inclusion programming, introducing sailing to over 1,800 youth and adults from diverse backgrounds through outreach events and community partnership activities. This is a 50% growth over the previous year! 

Your generosity helps us to deliver high-quality programming in a safe, inclusive environment:

• Community Outreach Events partner with organizations serving BIPOC youth and adults.
• Free Sailing Sundays provide no-cost sailing experiences to the public recreating on Bde Maka Ska.
• Scholarships that are based on need help to remove financial barriers to sailing lessons.
• Twin Cities Blind Sailing offers visually impaired sailors an opportunity to sail at no cost in our bi-weekly cruising classes. 

This year we are pursuing an ambitious $20,000 Give to the Max Day goal.
