Oscar the MS Monkey

Mr Oscar Monkey is a non-profit organization that focuses on educating and advocating for pediatric multiple sclerosis. Our mission is to provide a place for families and children to connect, share experiences, and spread awareness about pediatric MS.

There are many well known organizations around the world which focus on adult MS. There are, however, few that primarily focus on pediatric MS. Oscar was created in November 2015, and quickly became a friendly face to many kids, adults, and families affected by pediatric MS.

Because Oscar cannot have a place in each child's home, Oscar sends his friends, or buddies, to live with children who have an MS diagnosis. To date, Oscar has sent 117 of his buddies, along with reading material and extra resources, to children around the world. 

Initially, the efforts of Mr Oscar Monkey were out of pocket. We do not charge anyone for their buddy. The creator of Oscar the MS Monkey, Emily, was diagnosed with MS when she was 15. She knows exactly how hard it can be to make and keep friends while living with an MS diagnosis, and does not want anyone to have to pay for a friend if they are not able. Because of that, all care packages are sent through donations.

In addition to the care packages sent, Mr Oscar Monkey is planning a family camp for families of children with MS. This camp will be an opportunity for families to connect, discuss MS issues with neurologists, and create connections with one another. This will be an fun and educational event!

The donations made through this page will go to continuing our mission. Donations will be directed towards care packages and family camp.
