The Minnesota Police Pipe Band (MPPB) is a nationally recognized traditional Scottish pipe and drum corps.

Established in 1963, The Minnesota Police Pipe Band (MPPB) is a nationally recognized competition and performance bagpipe and drum corps based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we perform throughout the year at parades, concerts, and global competitions. We offer lessons to piping and drumming students free of charge to imbue the next generation with our rich heritage of Scottish music.

MPPB is a major presence at funeral services for Minnesota police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. In 2006 the band served as National Police Pipe Band at Law Enforcement Week in Washington DC and was honored to perform for the President and other dignitaries.

In addition, the band provides the drama of pipes and drums for a variety of charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the Minnesota Special Olympics and Serve Our Troops.

In 2019, the Grade 5 competition corps was awarded the Midwest Champions Supreme title by the Midwest Pipe Band Association, and we have leveled up to be a Grade 4 band. We are looking to continue to grow our band through our free instruction program, and we're accepting new members via audition.

More information about our free instruction program and band activities can be found at www.mppb.org.
