MINNESOTA FIREFIGHTERS NEED YOUR HELP

More than 90% of firefighters in Minnesota are volunteer or non-career – which means many don’t have access to health and wellness benefits through their department. They work hard to keep our communities safe, however they’re significantly affected by cardiovascular disease, emotional trauma and cancer. But there is hope, thanks to the Minnesota Firefighter Initiative (MnFIRE).

MnFIRE equips Minnesota’s 20,000 firefighters and their families with critical resources to address this growing health crisis, including critical illness benefits, mental health and emotional trauma resources, and health and wellness trainings through the state-funded Hometown Heroes Assistance Program. These confidential resources are available to all active volunteer, paid-on-call, part-time and full-time Minnesota firefighters at no cost to them or their departments.

Your gift can make a difference.

"Without the help of MnFIRE, I believe I would not be here today. Words can never express the gratitude I have for helping me regain my life and understanding I am OK and will only get better.”
- Minnesota Firefighter

Your individual donation to MnFIRE on Give to the Max Day supports Minnesota firefighters by bolstering our mental health and emotional trauma services that fall outside of the Hometown Heroes Assistance Program, such as our crisis response work. In the event of a crisis, we support the well-being and safety of firefighters and their families, through things like critical incident stress management, debriefing, suicide prevention, trauma processing and more.

We all rely on firefighters to be there for us when we need help. Will you join us in showing up for them and give $100 today?  Or consider supporting Minnesota firefighters year-round with a $10 monthly donation?  Thank you!

Consider supporting Minnesota firefighters year-round with a monthly donation. Thank you!

"Supporting MnFIRE, an organization focused on firefighter cardiac health, mental health and cancer awareness, is vital for the well-being of those who bravely serve our communities. Investing in these areas ensures firefighters receive the critical care and support needed to manage the unique health risks associated with the fire service. By prioritizing firefighter health and safety, we honor their dedication and strengthen our ability to protect and serve."
- Chief Mark Niemi, Rice Lake Fire Department
