"What's exciting about the M is that it is a regional museum that has an international impact. This is demonstrated by the M's interactions and engagement with communities. This is also demonstrated in the M's incredible collection."
—Dr. Patricia Marroquin Norby (Purépacha), Associate Curator of Native American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
"I’m excited about the way the M is helping us shape, craft, and build our stories together as a community. Because our story is the most powerful thing that we have. Our story is what helps us survive this moment, no matter what this moment brings."
—Mayor Melvin Carter
Over its 127-year history, the M has taken every opportunity to creatively adapt to new ideas and its changing community. This commitment has been steadfast, with recent years of expanded programming in new virtual and physical spaces, including innovative window exhibitions that have made engaging with the arts even more accessible in downtown St. Paul.
Currently, the M is open and HAZEL BELVO: FOR LOVE is on view in the Nancy and John Lindahl Gallery through May 14, 2024. The M is also on its way to completing construction on the final phase of a long-awaited building project, which will triple the gallery space and open in late 2024.
If you believe that our region deserves a museum that reflects the diverse perspectives, identities, and lives of residents, support the M and make a tax-deductible gift today! Your gift is an investment in the M’s future and will create new opportunities for artists to reach new audiences, help us extend offerings beyond the museum walls, and provide much-needed support to plan for a grand opening when construction is completed.
The M is more than just a museum. It is an inclusive community of people—artists, art lovers, learners, partners, and supporters like you—brought together by a belief that artistic creation and engagement with the arts are essential to our common vision of a vibrant community.
