Shake off the Blues. Choose a path to live better. Choose Optimism.

For those that don't know me, I started The Mike Justak Foundation for Parkinson's Disease in 2007, which was just 3 years after my diagnosis.  I felt compelled to act following an awakening of sorts on Easter Sunday in 2006.  In 2007 I met David Zid while attending a Parkinson's conference in Atlanta. David's book and video "Delay the Disease" touted exercise as a method to slow progression of the disease. This was long before it became a normal battle cry of nearly anyone in the Parkinson's community. It was during David's symposium sponsored by MJFPD in the Twin Cities that I realized how I could impact lives.

I tell this here and now as I ask for your support. A small , barely breathing non profit CAN and DOES make a difference. If I only help a single  person it IS worth it.  Please continue to believe in me. Take a look at the  choices on the donation table. Money raised here will be spent accordingly.

In short here is a quick overview.
Ten Bucks . You forego 2 Starbucks. This gives a gift of movement. Admit 1 to supervised physical therapy at The Struthers Parkinson's Center.( A recipient of MJFPD Grants)
Twenty Five Bucks. A gift to ward off depression. A seat on the Parkinson's Christmas Light Tour bus.
One Hundred Bucks- Real money. hard to come by, but you give a gift of independence by helping purchase a set of Nordic walking poles.
And the grand finale. Two Hundred Fifty Dollars. This provides a class for Laughter Yoga. I believe this is the up and coming treatment. This gift offers it all. It is social, healthy, and even provides exercise.

Last thing, you may be wondering about the picture? Sparky( the dog)? If you know me then this makes sense. I offer my hats off to ole Sparky  as he is the winner on GTTM day.   His ratio of donations to mine will exceed 1000 to 1. That is right. watch the main page scoreboard on the 15th. Old Sparky and friends will pull $100,000 in a flash.

I know, this has nothing to do with my title above, but this is real life.  If you are interested in my Optimist talk, I'm available. I will gladly speak to your group. Just email and ask.

With Sincere Thanks!

Mike
