The Minnesota Indian Women's Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC) is a statewide coalition providing local and national training and technical assistance, working to end sexual violence against all Native People. We work with and for Tribal communities across Minnesota and the nation, and serve as a national model for advocacy and Indigenizing responses to sexual violence, sex trafficking, and Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR).

Our Vision:

Creating Safety and Justice Through the Teachings of Our Grandmothers

Our Mission:

Through unity we will strengthen our voices and build resources to create awareness and eliminate sexual violence against Indian women and children. We will vigorously apply our efforts toward influencing social change and reclaim our traditional values that honor the sovereignty of Indian women and children.

MIWSAC's membership is comprised of Tribal & Urban Indian Organizations, as well as American Indian and Alaska Native relatives and allies who bring with them extensive cultural knowledge and long histories of working in sexual assault and/or domestic violence programs. It is their effort and dedication that propel us forward as we work to end sexual violence in our communities. MIWSAC strives to reclaim the traditional values that honor the sovereignty of our women, children, and Two Spirit relatives by incorporating culture and spirituality into every aspect of program operations.
