MYS is one of the nation’s premier youth orchestra education programs dedicated to high-level orchestra training for student musicians.

For over 50 years, the Minnesota Youth Symphonies (MYS) has been changing lives through music!  

Minnesota Youth Symphonies (MYS) enriches and inspires talented K-12 orchestral musicians by providing professional, comprehensive educational experiences, and thrills audiences with outstanding performances of orchestral repertoire. MYS cultivates leadership in students by fostering commitment and role modeling, demanding excellence, and encouraging achievement. MYS broadens cultural horizons, develops a sense of community, and cultivates a life-long love of classical music in audiences comprised of students, families and concertgoers.

MYS provides a comprehensive education to Minnesota student musicians that includes weekly orchestra rehearsals, music education classes, appearances by guest artists, and three concerts per season. MYS relies on your crucial support to continue this rich history of rigorous training while looking ahead to a robust future. Tuition revenue from our students covers only part of the cost of our high-quality instruction. Contributions allow MYS to maintain its quality and excellence through performing ambitious repertoire and providing a professional approach to instruction.
