Minnesota Well Owners Organization

A nonprofit organization

The Minnesota Well Owners Organization (MNWOO) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit whose mission is to advocate and educate for private well owners and users (PWOUs). MNWOO’s vision is for a future with clean groundwater and safe drinking water for everyone. MNWOO provides education, technical advice, legal services, and advocacy to preserve, protect, and restore Minnesota’s water resources. One of the ways we accomplish these goals is by conducting free nitrate and chloride screening clinics across the State.  During 2023, we held   Our access to clean and plentiful groundwater in Minnesota defines our well being. Three out of four Minnesotans rely on unseen water-bearing aquifers for our drinking water. Here, the availability, costs, and purity of our groundwater have driven

personal decisions and defined community health. Too many PWOUs are drinking contaminated groundwater without knowing. Rural well users now have the same right to safe drinking water as city dwellers. Because we care about the health and safety of future generations, PWOUs must test their drinking water quality and follow the local trends in water quality. Safe drinking water at the kitchen tap water is a priority, but solving the problems will take time. Please do your part to protect public health and, most importantly, protect your the health of your family, friends, and neighbors by testing your water.
