Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes for Planet Homeschool
Planet Homeschool is a homeschool co-op administered by the nonprofit organization Minnesota Secular Homeschool Enrichment. PHS has been serving the local homeschool community since 1999.
Planet Homeschool is a vibrant and welcoming secular learning community for middle and high school homeschooled students (ages 10–19) based in Saint Anthony Village (a first-ring suburb in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, surrounded by Northeast Minneapolis, Roseville, New Brighton, and Columbia Heights).
Our community has worked hard to build a welcoming and supportive community where LGBTQ+ students or students with LGBTQ+ parents, guardians, or caregivers, neurodivergent students, and students at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19 or who are in regular contact with someone who is at higher risk for getting very sick can feel both safe and included.
Our co-op provides a vital space for students to learn together, socialize with peers, and benefit from caring mentorship. We offer in-person and online classes in a wide range of subjects including the arts, humanities, sciences, mathematics, engineering, social sciences, physical education, and life skills.
PHS instructors are passionate about student learning and actively engaged in their fields. Our classes are small, fostering a comfortable, informal atmosphere and close relationships among instructors and students and their parents, guardians, and caregivers. At the heart of our community are our awesome youth: the lively and intellectually curious students who truly enjoy being here and learning together. Students have gathering spaces for studying, socializing, and free time to get to know one another. Co-op members also host social gatherings and activities such as park meetups, movies, online gaming get-togethers, and more.
Our community is committed to ensuring that our co-op’s most vulnerable members are safe. Our co-op’s approach to COVID-19 for in-person classes is and has been both cautious and science-minded, including vaccinations, masking, and additional air filtration via Corsi-Rosenthal boxes.
Your donations will help to cover this year’s overhead costs including building Corsi-Rosenthal boxes for our classrooms and shared spaces. Any extra funds raised will replenish our cash reserves which have been diminished due to COVID-19.
