Give to the Max Day is November 14th 2019!

SUPPORT COMMUNITY PROJECTS AROUND THE GLOBE by helping us reach our $5,000 goal.

Each year, Minnesota Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (MNRPCV) awards small grants to serving and returned Peace Corps Volunteers and nonprofit organizations working in communities around the globe. Special priority is given to projects by Peace Corps Volunteers with a Minnesota connection.  Projects funded by 2019 grant winners include:

--Project: Primary School Toilets: Good Health and Hygiene for Our Youth

Summary: Zimbiri Primary School in rural Tanzania had only 12 toilets for their students. These were not enough for their 765 students. The MNRPCV Community Service Grant was enough to complete a building with 8 additional toilets.

 --Project: Makka Clinic Project

Summary: In the community of Makka, Sierra Leone 810 people were forced to travel 3 miles on a poorly constructed road to reach the nearest health post. This distance caused many pregnant women to give birth on the side of the road while others would not go to a clinic at all. The MNRPCV Community Service Grant went towards funding the construction of a 6 room health clinic. This clinic will function as a safe place for all community member especially pregnant women and children to receive health care.
