MGS bridges research and practice in the field of aging, with emphasis on developing and supporting tomorrow’s leaders!

MGS has linked universities & colleges, professionals, and students in gerontology for over 40 years. 

Seeking to increase understanding of aging issues and to promote effective research, quality programs and specific solutions; MGS brings together various disciplines to work together for a good quality of life for older persons in Minnesota. 

MGS provides scholarships to promote gerontology as a career; conducts free monthly webinars featuring local experts in a variety of gerontological topics; hosts an annual conference each Spring; offers Outstanding Gerontology awards; supports the Gerontology Educators Network & Students and Emerging Professionals in Aging affinity group; offers networking opportunities, and resources via e-bulletins and a robust website.

This is year, your contributions will ensure that MGS is able to: 

  1. Provide MGS Student Membership Scholarships to students in financial need
  2. Enhance our newly launched Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work (e.g. Sacred Sites Tours for our Board, Staff, Community Partners, and Members) 
  3. Support general operations (e.g. the development of a new Customer Relationship Management system that will lead to organizational growth, greater community reach, and improved programming)
