MAND AND THE MAND FOUNDATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS AND OUR DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, EQUITY AND BELONGING WORK

During this time of political and social unrest, the MAND Foundation is committed to promoting educational scholarships for nutrition professionals and students while supporting MAND’s Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging (DIEB) work.  COVID-19 has amplified the very real social injustices in our country and we need to do more to raise awareness of the historical bias that is embedded in our training and the delivery of healthcare services to all people, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, ability or identity. We also need to begin breaking down barriers and power structures to support the health and well-being of ALL MINNESOTANS.

This Give to the Max Day, we need your support. The MAND Foundation oversees the funds for several scholarships and we want to see those funds GROW so that we can support more students and nutrition professionals of all backgrounds, and attract more BIPOC and LGBTQIA students to the field of dietetics and nutrition. Over the years, we have provided thousands of dollars in increments of $250-$1000 for deserving students' and members' educational expenses. 

We also want to provide no/low cost anti-bias training to all Minnesota nutrition professionals on an ON-GOING BASIS. This work is important for all of us, as our patients’ and clients’ dietary needs are greatly impacted by culture and identity. When we support cultural competency and an anti-bias mindset, we become allies in breaking down the traditional healthcare educational and delivery constructs that have too often marginalized non-white and LGBTQ community members.

Your tax deductible gift of $25, $50 or $100  will support MAND and the MAND Foundation to ensure that we are interacting and working successfully alongside people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities and beliefs to advance the health of ALL MINNESOTANS. Thanks for your generosity!
