A gift today enables families and community members to enjoy MCBA’s free exhibitions, improves access to our virtual and in-person workshops, and supports programs that cultivate a fierce community of creative voices. Help us reach our Give to the Max Day goal of $9,000.

Spotlight underacknowledged practices through exhibitions and workshop series like Paper Is People: Decolonizing Global Paper Cultures, which featured works by local, national, and international artists, offering a new definition of paper­ within a global and decolonial framework.

Connect artists with resources, support, and visibility for their work through our Shop, galleries, and relationships with special collections.  In the past twelve months, MCBA helped generate more than $120,000 in sales for working artists.

Root communities in our studios, workshops, and artist programs. Since our last Give to the Max Day, we hosted over 1,769 students in workshops, both virtual and in-person.

About MCBA 

Founded in 1983, Minnesota Center for Book Arts is a nonprofit visual arts center that ignites creativity and community through the book arts. We practice letterpress printing, bookbinding, hand papermaking, paper marbling, screen printing, and more! We believe that creativity is a basic human impulse that should be recognized and encouraged in all of its forms, and we are deepening our commitment to catalyzing opportunities for education, enrichment, and engagement for all. Through in person and virtual workshops, exhibitions, and opportunities for artists of all levels, we invite you to explore your own creative impulse.
