The Minnesota Canoe Museum is a 501c3 non-profit located in Ely, MN. The mission of the museum is "Preserving and promoting the art, culture, and history of canoeing and canoe country."

The museum's collection features a range of fantastic paddlecraft, from birchbark canoes modeled on the amazing craft of native peoples, to wood and canvas canoes (such as Peterborough, Chestnut, BN Morris and more from the early 1900s). The museum also features notable fiberglass and kevlar models. Given the unique contributions that Minnesota has made to canoeing and canoe country, the Museum has a unique view of this region and makes a critical contribution to the heritage and continued use of human powered craft!

Your contribution Today will help us secure a new permanent home in Ely, MN. We have identified a building in Ely that we will transform into our own permanent location that will create a high quality interpretive opportunity for the general public. Today we are housed in the Ely Folk School. Over the coming months we will be relocating to the new site in Ely, and will open our new space in the Summer of 2024!

You can learn more about our Museum at www.minnesotacanoemuseum.org.

We very much appreciate your contribution to our organization!
