Minnesota Boxer Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based dog rescue organization primarily serving Minnesota and surrounding areas. We are run 100% by dedicated and committed volunteers. What this means is that YOU help make this rescue possible! Through September of this year, MNBR has taken in 86 dogs, adopted 78 dogs, and has 14 dogs currently in foster care. Our total expenses for this year so far are $102,445 while collecting only $33,300 in adoption fees which means that, on average, we spend 3x more per dog than we collect in adoption fees (a shortfall of $728 per dog). We rely on your generous donations to cover the difference.
MNBR's largest expenses come from our veterinary care. Your financial donations help to cover those expenses. We work with several great vets which provide great (sometimes lifesaving) services at a discount, but it all adds up. Every dog coming into rescue is given basic vetting, including spay/neuter if needed, but some dogs require extra medical attention.
This year we are asking for people to commit to becoming sustainers and pledging an amount to donate monthly. This provides MNBR with a consistent stream of revenue which helps cover the average $728 shortfall between the amount we spend on a dog compared to the amount recovered from adoption fees. It also ensure that we have a steady stream of revenue to cover non-veterinary costs for our dogs such as providing a collar ($10), a bed ($25), and food ($50).
