Supporting the community theatre movement throughout Minnesota

The Minnesota Association of Community Theatres (MACT) is a statewide, volunteer-run, nonprofit service organization. Founded in 1973, our mission is to:

  • promote standards of excellence in theatrical endeavors in Minnesota communities;
  • encourage, channel and facilitate the exchange of ideas among theatres to better foster their growth and improvement; and
  • encourage theatre arts through educational devices such as workshops, festivals, contests, conferences and other means.

MACT festivals (MACT*Fest: shows up to an hour long in odd-numbered years, FAST*Fest: shows under 20 minutes in even-numbered years) give theatres a chance to show their best work and learn from adjudicators and peers around the state. Our board members come from all over Minnesota – from Duluth to Crookston, Rochester and Owatonna to Marshall, Dassel-Cokato, St. Cloud, Minneapolis and many more communities. Thanks to MACT’s opportunities, Minnesota theatres have done very well at region, national (AACTFest) and international festivals!

Your support will help MACT communicate, collaborate, and network with Minnesotans who share a life-long love of theatre. Thank you for your consideration! (And don't forget to search through GiveMN organizations for community theatres in your area who'd appreciate support as well!)
