Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement

Whatever cause is most important to you, supporting the Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) will make an impact in that area and help people in need across Minnesota. Nearly all non-profit organizations rely on the 1.5 million dedicated volunteers in our state to fulfill their mission. These volunteers are taking on roles of leadership and responsibility in nonprofits to meet the needs of the community such as feeding the hungry, providing disaster relief, and mentoring underprivileged children. This impact is obtained through effective coordination of our valuable volunteer resources which only MAVA provides.

With your donation to MAVA, you are supporting all organizations across the state by assisting leaders of volunteers in mobilizing volunteers to meet the needs of our communities.

To support volunteer managers, MAVA offers:

1. Nationally-recognized volunteer training programs that provide opportunities for these leaders to develop excellent skills in engaging volunteers and learn the best practices employed by their colleagues across the state.

2. Cutting-edge information about the changing landscape of volunteerism in the state. This includes research on current trends in civic engagement, which allows the volunteer community to stay current on what opportunities volunteers are seeking and aids leaders in adapting their programs to fit those needs.

3. A multitude of volunteer leadership resources, not found elsewhere, including professional development opportunities, forums for sharing ideas and networking, events, latest news from the field, and more. 

4. Inclusion and racial equity in volunteerism. Your donation provides funding for our Race Equity in Volunteerism Assessment (R.E.V.A) program. The Race Equity in Volunteerism Assessment Program (R.E.V.A) offers a customized approach for organizations and groups who wish to examine and take action to address race equity in volunteerism. 

By supporting leaders of volunteers, MAVA is supporting the work of volunteers throughout the state and strengthening their impact on their communities.
