Empowering Through Sports

Minneapolis Mallard is a non-profit sports team dedicated to fostering community engagement, sportsmanship, and youth development through the love of ultimate frisbee. Established with a mission to promote sports as a means of personal growth and community cohesion, the team focuses on providing opportunities for young and adult athletes, and promoting positive values through sports.

Vision and Values

The organization believes in the power of sports to teach essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, and resilience. Their vision is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals of all backgrounds can thrive, learn, and succeed both on and off the field. Minneapolis Mallard prioritizes safety and fair play above all else. We place a large emphasis on our culture, respect, and competition. With our process and priorities at the forefront, we have seen on-field success follow as a by-product year after year.

Programs and Initiatives

Minneapolis Mallard continues to innovate and provide safe, inclusive playing opportunities for ultimate players in the Minnesota metropolitan area. We host an annual early-summer tournament, called the Minnesota Warm Up - most recently taking place at Eden Prairie High School and affording local players an inexpensive option to play against teams from near and far. Teams have traveled from Canada, Iowa, Wisconsin, and North Dakota to participate in our events.

Additionally, this winter we are hosting our inaugural Minneapolis Winter League for players to continue playing and competing during the prohibitively cold winter months. We have 12 teams, with upwards of 170 players, participating in regularly scheduled Saturday-night games for the months of November and December. The winter league has been viewed as a wildly successful, and Minneapolis Mallard is elated to be able to elevate the programming for the future to serve a wider audience. 

From youth training camps to competitive leagues, the organization is committed to offering accessible opportunities for all individuals interested in sports. These programs are designed not only to enhance athletic abilities but also to instill important values and principles vital for personal development.

Community Involvement

Aside from their athletic programs, Minneapolis Mallard actively engages with the community through outreach initiatives. They collaborate with local schools and other non-profit organizations to promote the importance of sports in a well-rounded education and healthy lifestyle.

Fundraising and Support

As a non-profit organization, Minneapolis Mallard heavily relies on donations, sponsorships, and volunteers to sustain their programs and make them accessible to a wider range of participants. They encourage the community to get involved and support their cause.
