Requesting your support: the Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team needs a new trailer!

Last year, we asked our current and alumni families to consider making a donation to the Mpls Alpine Ski Team so that we could purchase a new MAST tent.  You gave generously and we certainly made good use of our beautiful new tent last year.   Thank you for continuing to support our team. 

This year, we are asking for your support so that we might purchase a second MAST trailer. The current trailer is a gem.  Doug and Lisa Tanner donated the trailer just under ten years ago.  It hauls all kinds of equipment for our athletes and the coaching staff to semi-monthly Supplemental Training at Wild Mountain, our Annual Giant's Ridge Camp, and to every away competition, including our East Metro Conference races, Invitationals, Sectionals and the State Meet.  It carries the gates we use for training and races, the skis and poles of our coaches and athletes, boot bags, all of the supplies we need to feed dozens of athletes and parents at races, and the MAST tent.

In addition to hauling our gear, the trailer stores a portion of our equipment in the off-season in a secure outdoor storage lot. Nonetheless, we are still short carrying space when we travel and storage space in the off-season.  We love the trailer so much we determined that we need a second one.  We also discovered that we carry a lot of weight in our trailer so we are seeking a two axle trailer this time around.  This will give us an extra measure of safety on the road.   And in the off-season, we will have a secure place to store all of our equipment, not just some of our equipment.  This is an investment that will serve the youth of Minneapolis for another decade or more. Any monetary gift you make will be set aside in savings until we have sufficient funds to purchase a new two-axle trailer.  Please consider making a donation today.

The Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team is a cooperative ski team for students in grades 7-12 from the seven high schools and 21 middle schools in Minneapolis Public Schools. We offer the only opportunity for Minneapolis students to ski race in Minnesota State High School League sanctioned competitions. MAST team members have a wide range of skiing ability levels, from beginner to expert. All ability levels are welcome, no one is cut, everyone is coached, and everyone races on a regular basis. 

MAST works hard to keep costs as low as possible for skiers and their families, while also providing them with the highest level of coaching and training.
